The location of the village, the harsh climate, unfavorable for the cultivation of plants meant that agriculture did not develop here. For centuries, pastoralism was the basis of the economy (which can be seen at the bottom of the mountain on which I took a photo) ... until the times when skiing and EU subsidies began to reign in Podhale :)
The photo shows a ski lift built on one of the mountain slopes surrounding Jurgów, and near it the entire infrastructure where this year, in the winter, the locals will find a job, and tourists will go skiing and leave some money for the less friendly summer months.
